About The Role

"We are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Manager to work within the Ponds team. This is a site specific role at Chapelcross to lead, manage and deliver decommissioning projects working collaboratively with Site and various other stakeholders.”

Key Deliverables

Support the consistent application of project procedures for performance of administrative, project and design tasks in accordance with PD25 Magnox Project Management Process and Procedures

  • To provide project management leadership and ensuring the safe delivery of projects to time, cost and quality with responsibility for leading the project to a successful conclusion
  • Work collaboratively with Sites, Functions on high hazard ponds decommissioning projects
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and in particular site teams having the ability to engage and influence others to achieve positive outcomes
  • Commitment to continuously improve and a pro-active contribution to successful improvement changes
  • Support the consistent application of Magnox processes and procedures for planning, estimating, resourcing, design, modification, implementation and reporting tasks for projects.
  • Contribute to the creation and coordination of overall project plans, schedules, costs and risks, and monitoring activities, progress, and milestones against the plans.
  • Perform normal project management functions such as communication plans, monitoring progress, progress meetings and the identification, evaluation and resolution of issues/problems that may constitute an increase or decrease in project scope, cost, or schedule.

Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification (NQF Level 5) in a scientific, environmental or engineering discipline AND demonstrable experience in a project management role (Essential)
  • Relevant experience in nuclear or heavy industry in an industrial operational environment is (Desirable).
  • Experience in managing NEC3 contracts and the use of CEMAR (Desirable)
  • Certification in project management suggested, for example APM – PMQ (Desirable)

Please be aware this role holder requires security clearance, or the ability to obtain said clearance.

There is a requirement to live within a commutable distance to the sites where the role is based. For central/multi-site roles, we have various hubs across the UK and can be flexible with base location.
