Do you have marketing experience? We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to lead marketing activities for a broad range of activities which will allow us to provide positive opportunities to more young people.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a self motivated volunteer with fundraising experience to lead a marketing and community strategy for a broad range of activities both on and off the water for our young people.

The tasks of a trustee include but are not restricted to the following
  • To plan and implement a strategy for generating promotion for the unit.
  • Help to prepare grant applications in liaison with other members of the organisation.
  • To encourage and lead other volunteers and cadets in marketing & communications projects.
  • Develop links with local contacts and produce a database of potential supporters.
  • Raise awareness of the unit to the local community.
  • Develop and encourage links with business.
  • To work closely with the Chairperson and other Trustees
  • Attend a regular UMT meeting - usually 2 hours, monthly or bi-monthly, on a weekday evening
What are we looking for?

Someone who is able to take a proactive approach
  • Good leadership skills
  • Experience of fundraising/ income generation knowledge
  • Excellent networking, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector is desirable

Before you apply

Regardless of which role you have, all Adult Volunteers join us on a probationary basis with an induction, which includes
  • Completion of an Adult Application Form
  • 2 x References (depending on the chosen role)
  • DBS Disclosure.
  • 3 x Online Learning Modules; Data Protection, Health & Safety and Safeguarding Awareness.
  • Online Induction (7x Online Modules) to be completed over 6 months at your own pace.
  • Online Safeguarding Workshop (this is a face to face virtual course carried out of a weekend evening for approximately 3 hours).
