Fugro is recruiting for a vessel manager to join our Marine Site Characterisation team in Falmouth. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to take ownership and manage a variety of business and vessel-related tasks such as commercial, operational, technical and planned maintenance to ensure the Jack-Up Barge service is at the highest possible standard at all times.

The role also includes direct line management of members of the vessel team. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of markets and would suit an offshore marine professional or those already in a shore-based management position.

Who You’ll Be Working With

Internally you will work closely with Vessel owners, Bargemasters, Marine Crew, Project Managers, externally you will work with vessel charter companies and surveyors

Here’s What a Typical Day Would Be Like
  • Compiling weekly/monthly internal vessel reports
  • Assist with creating JUB Commercial/Technical proposals
  • Updating and managing budgets
  • Liaising with Clients/external stakeholders
  • Supporting incident investigations and completing appropriate actions
  • Managing day to day class and flag related issues
  • Assisting Operations with Technical Support
  • Monitoring weather forecasts and sea states
  • Liaising with port authorities to negotiate commercial rates
  • Providing technical support to the charterer and throughout the charted period
  • Managing marine crew, ensuring clear and achievable targets are set and maintained
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team

Essential

Who we’re looking for
  • Extensive experience working with Marine/Vessels
  • Extensive management experience
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
