An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Survey Trainer to join Fugro Academy which provides practical and theoretical training and development solutions, with global delivery across the Fugro group. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a positive, fun and friendly environment.

Within this role you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation and delivery of survey training courses and programmes as part of the Fugro Academy Marine Training team. Additionally, you will be supporting Senior Trainers within the Survey and the Hydrographic training portfolios.

There may be frequent, global travel to various Fugro or client offices to deliver training, working from a Fugro office or working from home.

Who You’ll Be Working With

Within this role you will be working with the Global Survey Training and Competence Manager, Fugro training staff, various Fugro subject matter experts and innovation leaders across the company and Fugro Academy Training Coordinators. You will support the Senior Trainers within the Survey and Hydrographic portfolios before becoming a focal point for training in the survey area of the business, liaising with Fugro colleagues and managers globally as required to ensure that Fugro staff receive the best training that we can possibly provide.

Here’s What a Typical Day Would Be Like
  • Design of all types of training course syllabi or modules in consultation with Global Survey Training and Competence Manager and others as required to satisfy the Service Line and/or Fugro entity and/or project specific requirements.
  • Development of all types of training course content and material, exercises, and assessments to meet objectives and syllabus of approved training courses.
  • Delivery of face-to-face training courses, in person or online training courses via virtual means.
  • Ensuring training materials data security and integrity before, during and after training processes, and ensuring appropriate archiving.
  • Supporting and collaborating with other trainers in delivery of practical demonstrations and exercises.
Essential

Who we’re looking for
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Survey, Hydrography or Geomatics with an affinity for technology/technical subjects or relevant military survey training and experience.
  • Offshore survey experience at a senior level, on a variety of projects.
  • Some experience in presenting training or mentoring junior staff.
  • Good working knowledge of StarfixNG.
  • Good ability in the applications of Survey Mathematics.
  • Competent in all Microsoft Office applications, including proficient excel skills and communication tools.
  • An excellent communicator (verbally and written) and able to form good working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team, with local, regional and global colleagues at all levels and on own initiative.
  • Ability to explain concepts/engage listeners.
  • Methodical and organised approach to managing data, digital files, images and templates.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and deliver high quality work to strict deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail, quality and safety.
  • Based near an existing Fugro office.
Desirable
  • Subsequent qualifications or directly relevant vocational knowledge.
  • Experience of working within a Fugro environment.
  • Fluency in a second language.
