Transport Operations Manager | £Negotiable | Doncaster

Your new role
An exciting new opportunity for a Transport Operations Manager to lead a high performing, efficient transport service for our General Haulage division based out of Doncaster.

The successful candidate will be accountable for Planning & Execution, People Management and Development, Service Delivery and Efficiency for our customers and Financial Performance.

Working Monday-Friday during core hours, with a level of flexibility required to met operational demands.

Key Duties Include:

  • Daily operations of the contract/site; owning and resolving the operational risks and issues
  • P&L for the contract and site
  • KPI performance of the site (including HSE, cost to deliver, service levels, driver welfare, engagement and retention, operational performance metrics).
  • Effective management and development of all of direct reports
  • HSE operational performance and legal compliance and obligations within network transport operations
  • Fleet requirements and fleet specifications for site and responsible for ensuring servicing and maintenance are completed in line with the operating license
  • Customer Care and Service for all interactions
  • Effective planning and execution of transport plan
  • Strategic and tactical resource planning (e.g. driver forecast requirements)
  • Agency management ensuring compliance with group agreements relating to use of Agency
  • Design and costing of Customer solutions impacting the site
  • Day to day excellence in the ongoing operation delivering continuous improvements in key KPI performances.



What you’ll need to succeed

  • You must be able to demonstrate relevant Management experience in a high volume service driven transport environment
  • Experience of TMS or similar would be an advantage.
  • You will have a good understanding of legal compliance and fleet controls.
  • Ideally you will have experience of Budgets and Financial controls
  • A CPC is essential
