How You Will Impact WestRock

Ensure that all safety legislation is adhered to and best practice principles and policies are adopted throughout the site by implementing and maintaining a robust safety system.
Assist the site in planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures require to minimize operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
Take the lead with any HSE issue at site and ensure that all staff are complying with company procedures.
Evaluating, refining processes and techniques to improve learning effectiveness and productivity across all departments at site.
Assisting in driving the success of training plans and supporting the needs of the workforce.

Training

Deliver inhouse training at site and support Leicester site with their Logistical training needs.
Booking and coordinating external training such as First Aid, Fire Warden etc
Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
Design, create and deliver effective training programs & materials such as workshops and individual training sessions.
Carry out inductions for all new starters at site including temporary workers and support HR, Supervisors, Transport Planning Technicians and Assistant Operations Managers in completing their part of the induction process.
Track training attendance and completion rates, ensuring all training records are kept in an organized manner.
Provide Internal and External audit support.
Support development of site communications ie. Team Briefings, Newsletters.

Health, Safety And Environment

Make changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
Lead the site HSE Committee meeting, listening and working collaboratively with employees at site.
Work with the Cluster EHS&S Cluster Manager to prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies.
Assist and provide guidance on carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced.
Assist and provide guidance on carrying out COSHH assessments.
Provide site with support and guidance with accident investigations.
