The Engineering function at the GSK Worthing site is responsible for the provision of engineering expertise to support the manufacturing, automation and controls systems for all production operations at the site.

We are looking for a motivated Engineer to join the team on a circa 18-month secondment / Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to support tablet manufacturing. As a Trade Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering support (Mechanical and / or Electrical) to maximise equipment availability (through planned / corrective maintenance and continuous improvement activities), while ensuring compliance with all Quality & EHS requirements to production or support equipment.

Key Responsibilities (include):

  • Completion of Planned Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance (Breakdowns & Problem Solving) and machine strip downs and rebuilds to support production requirements
  • Support for Packaging, Manufacturing or Facilities equipment as defined by role or team
  • Completion or Mechanical and / or Electrical activities based on training, formal competency assessment and approval for defined activities
  • Ensuring full compliance with EHS & Quality requirements in any activities completed
  • Continuously identify & implement Engineering improvements (equipment or ways of working) that deliver benefit to OVS and support site objectives
  • Completion of any relevant Technical or Compliance training to ensure current with requirements of role (eg 17th Edition IEE for Electrical roles)

Duration: Please note that this Fixed Term Contract (FTC) is currently circa 18-months in duration.

Shift Pattern – Please Note:This role requires flexibility around 24/7 operations.

About You:

This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has experience of operational engineering / manufacturing process in a complex GMP environment. You will be a qualified engineer (eg; Time served Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical and/or Electrical), HNC or HND, etc). You will have a proven ability to drive performance (it is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions). You will have strong scientific/technical knowledge to help support relevant processes at the Worthing site (eg; how they impact the quality and efficacy of the final product).

About Worthing Manufacturing Site:

Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for antibiotics both in the sterile and oral form. It is advised that you take this into consideration when deciding to apply for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience (ideally gained working in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility)
  • Engineering qualification (eg; HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant discipline or Time served Engineering Apprenticeship)
  • Knowledge of current GMP requirements.
