We are now recruiting for a Tooling Design Engineer in JCB World Headquarters

Overview Of The Role

Toolroom is a business unit responsible for the design, manufacture and maintenance of jigs and fixtures for all JCB divisions worldwide.

Our highly skilled team are currently working on a variety of exciting new and existing projects. As a Design Engineer, you’ll produce detailed designs and make a big contribution to key concepts and studies. As you work, you’ll be liaising with a variety of customers and departments, so teamwork will be crucial. Our dedicated experts are passionate about the products they create and you’ll share their enthusiasm

Your Responsibilities As a Toolroom Designer

Liaise with principal/senior Toolroom design engineers and customer engineers to ensure concepts are thoroughly understood.

Liaise with customer manufacturing engineers to ensure that the correct assembly sequence is adhered to.

Ensure all design concepts conform to all industry regulations.

Calculate developed stress, strains and moments

Problem solving

Create 3D models on Siemens NX software

Creation of detailed engineering drawings

Creation of accurate bill of materials

Ensure that all component parts positioned into the fixture can be removed easily when part of the W.A.

About You

With a relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience), you’ll be a skilled Engineer who can use CAD/PLM systems.

Ideally the candidate will have hands on experience of handling JCB components and have an understanding of how welded assemblies are manufactured.

The candidate should be happy working independently, on their own initiative, or part of a multi-disciplined team in a fast-paced working environment.

For you, the goal is to create a product that will withstand many years of production usage whilst maintaining positional accuracy.
