We are looking for a Technical Manager to operate from our Pinchbeck facility to manage the account for one of the supermarkets we supply mainly avocados to. Your role would be to manage technical/quality aspects with the Head of Technical and purchasing/products with Procurement Managers. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. This is a one-year maternity cover position with an ISO 14001 / 50001 / 45001 company who work with LEAF environmentally responsible farmers in countries such as South Africa, Chile, Israel, and Peru. As an ethical employer the company follows the United Nations guiding principles on modern slavery and human rights. The business specialises in supplying avocados alongside other fruit and vegetables to the UK market and have a workforce of over 230 staff across 3 UK locations (3 production sites in Spalding). The company import from over 200 growers in 30 countries and sell 7 million packages each year

As a Technical Manager Your Duties Will Include
  • Taking responsibility for technical/quality compliance and corrective plans.
  • Conducting audits of farms, packhouses, ports and storage facilities.
  • Carrying out regular customer visits and discuss any issues.
  • Effectively managing line reports and KPIs.
  • Ensuring weekly trackers are prepared and distributed.
  • Maintaining customer service and CPMU agreed targets.
We are looking for a Technical Manager who has the following skills and experiences:
  • Experience of working in a senior technical position.
  • Absolutely focused on what is important to the customer.
  • Ability to deal professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate effectively in person and using office tools.
The employment dates for this maternity position are from June 2022 to June 2023.
