A new role has arisen for a Quality Assurance Technologist to work for this bulk food and feed processor, based in Warwickshire. The successful candidate will form part of the Technical Department team and support the delivery and maintenance of standards and processes to meet all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.

The role offers a competitive salary of £22k-£30k commensurate with experience and will be a Monday to Friday site-based role.

Please note this is a remote site not on a public transport route, and the use of own transport will be necessary.

As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you will report directly to the Technical Manager and your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and maintaining the Quality Management System to current BRCGS and customer standards
  • Maintenance of standards and processes required to meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards (FSA, TSO, EHO, BRCGS, CLAS, HACCP)
  • Ensuring continual adherence to all agreed food hygiene and safety standards
  • The role is operationally focused, and the successful Quality Assurance Technologist will be expected to spend a significant proportion of time in a manufacturing environment to drive the quality culture of the site.
  • The role is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to expand their knowledge and skills in relation to quality management systems and their practical execution of these in a fast-paced bulk manufacturing environment.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technologist who has the following skills and experience:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in food science or general science, or previous experience of working in a quality orientated role in the food or animal feed industry.
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents including vendor and customer specifications.
  • Able to generate specific reports.
  • Have a strong commercial and operational awareness.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in the carrying out of their duties.
  • Have strong communication, influencing and coaching skills, PC skills & data interpretation.
  • Possess a confident and assured manner.
  • Understand QMS, HACCP, Internal Audit systems, food safety and good manufacturing practices.
  • Have previous experience of external audits e.g., BRC
  • Be eligible to work in the UK without restriction
Graduates with a relevant degree will also be considered for the role, and training will be provided in the areas where less experience is held.
