Carnival UK is moving forward with its restart plan, post our Covid pause in operations, and long-term strategy of growth in our ships, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Controller to join our Maritime Department.

The Role

In this role you will assist Ship Managers, Superintendents, Ship’s onboard maintenance managers and liaise with a network of international service providers as part of a team to coordinate and support the asset management of the fleet of 9 ships. This is under the P&O and Cunard world class brands in a 24/7, 365 day a year maritime environment.

You will be responsible for organising and managing fixed fee contracts, planned maintenance and urgent reactive unplanned repairs in all areas of Deck and Technical. Involving Electrical, Engineering, Entertainment, Environmental, Maritime Standards, Projects, Refits, Security and Ventilation Maintenance to ensure the safety, statutory compliance and sustainability of the ships. In addition it will include management of logistics support for refits at dry dock and crisis management as part of the Carnival UK emergency response team.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of working in a fast paced marine technical environment along with experience of budget management and working with computer-based planned maintenance and purchasing systems. In addition you will have knowledge of logistics operations and vendor management experience.

You will apply high standard team work, organisational and prioritising skills, to ensure timely delivery of services to the ships whilst using commercial awareness to deliver cost effectiveness which is essential for the role.

You will hold a relevant degree (or equivalent).

A Diploma in Ship Management (or equivalent) is desirable not essential.
