Key Responsibilities

  • As a team leader your main duty is to ensure that the carers in your team perform to the highest possible standard, you will be required to identify what their weaker areas of practise are and to help improve these whether that be via training or working with the individual until they improve.
  • Provide the care service when there is sickness or holiday cover is short.
  • You will be required to get regular feedback from service users with regards to your carers performance.
  • You are required to build a relationship with each of the service users in your team so that you are working with them in an aim to ensure their care is of a high standard and that you can both speak freely of any issues.
  • You are required to keep the Manager informed of your team’s performance and any issues.

Duties include (List is not exhaustive);

  • Carry out initial review with service users, plan spot checks
  • Checking documentation for example MAR charts and risk assessments
  • Deal with alarms to ensure the smooth running of the shifts
  • Supporting new members of staff into the business and coaching them to what is expected
  • Complete reviews and annual appraisals for your team
  • Ensure your team members record accurately and detailed in day books and any other documentation they may use.
  • Checking tele monitoring reports, spot check records, MAR charts and day book entries prior to supervisions so that you can reflect on these.

What is essential?

· Having a driving licence as this role is field based

· Availability either 07.00-5.15pm or 5pm -11.30pm

Be available every other weekend.
