We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Sister/ Charge Nurse to join the team on the Adult Clinical Decisions Unit (ACDU) at Withybush Hospital Haverfordwest. ACDU are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, innovative nurse with a passion for quality and safety to help lead the team.

ACDU is a hub of activity we provide the key to safe effective patient treatment and flow. We manage medical/surgical patients that are able to receive treatment and go home or patients needing short stay.

The successful candidate will be motivated with excellent communication and leadership skills who will be able to support the Senior Sister and Multidisciplinary team in providing patient centred, high standards of care, and efficient safe management of patients. They will need to be confident in leading the team in the absence of the Senior Sister and be involved in providing an environment where junior team members are supported to develop.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to ensure a high standard of care is delivered for our patients and work closely with the Site, SDEC & A&E team within a positive and challenging environment.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate the use of evidence-based practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with a readiness to innovate and develop nursing within a team approach.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
