Are you a qualified Level 4 or Level 5 HLTA and looking for work in the Bargoed. Are you looking to gain experience in a variety of schools, covering both Foundation Phase and KS2? Vetro Education can help.

The position is suitable for a proactive individual who is confident in taking the lead within the classroom with strong behavioural management techniques. The successful applicant will be able to follow through on pre set lesson plans and reporting outcomes on learners alongside the classroom teacher.

Key Requirements

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries, or similar
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification or Degree Equivalent
  • Be registered with the EWC (School Support Worker)
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to take one out
  • The Right to Work in the UK

Duties Will Include

  • Supporting and supervising educational games, sports, and craft activities
  • Helping children with their reading
  • Preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Sole control of classroom in absence of the teacher
  • Working with pupils in small groups/and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Putting together displays of children’s work
  • Helping out on school trips
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Listening to children read, reading to them, or telling them stories
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Supervising group activities
