The Older Peoples’ Psychology (OPP) service in Dorset is seeking an experienced clinical psychologist to work in our friendly team. Working alongside the Later Life Lead, you will contribute to the next phase of the development of the team, in the context of the wider changes associated with the Community Mental Health Service Framework. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, committed and dedicated with excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise their work.

In addition to carrying your own clinical caseload, you will be helping to inform how we deliver high quality, evidence-based interventions to service users with complex needs by attending professionals’ meetings and supporting CMHT staff.

You will provide clinical and management supervision to staff within OPP, with a dual focus on ensuring that we are delivering clinical excellence and supporting staff in their own wellbeing. As part of the senior staff team, you will contribute to decision making around key areas of service development.

We have established links with local training providers in psychology and take undergraduate placement students from the Southampton psychology course. As a team we are supporting several QI projects.

Dorset OPP comprises a supportive team of psychologists. All OPP staff have access to regular activities to support their ongoing professional development. The Trust has a strong emphasis on promoting staff wellbeing with various free activities available to staff such as Mindfulness and yoga.

Relocation

If you are interested in moving to Dorset we also offer a generous relocation package of up to £10,000. For further details on relocation expenses please email dhc.careers@nhs.net

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
