Job Description

Teaching Personnel is the UK’s leading education recruitment agency – the Plymouth branch are recruiting for a full time teaching assistant to support in one of our Torquay secondary schools SEN department to start in September 2021.

This role will require an experienced TA, learning mentor, NQT or a professional who has worked with young adults who may have challenging behaviour, SEMH or ASC to support students aged between 11 and 16 years old who require additional support.

The successful candidate will work 1:1 and in small groups with the students who visit the inclusion room. There will also be times when support in mainstream classes is required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Recent experience supporting and working with children and young adults with special educational needs. This can be from a care or educational background
  • A nurturing and patient approach to learning and understanding.
  • Have a strong academic background. Grades A – C in Maths and English GCSE
