Job Description

The Head Teacher and Governors of a primary school in Darwen are keen to recruit a Teaching Assistant who is qualified at graduate level to join their fantastic school from September 2021.

The School Are Looking For
  • An inspiring and enthusiastic graduate who would like to develop their practice and gain further experience within a primary school environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain a better understanding of the teaching profession and who are considering a career in education.

You will have access to professional development opportunities, including the chance to work alongside pupils in both KS1 and KS2 and gradually build upon your responsibilities in preparation for undertaking a PGCE or another trainee teacher qualification. You may also have the opportunity to shadow a Learning Support Assistant who works alongside individual pupils with special educational needs, as this will enable you to develop a better understanding of SEN and tailoring your practice to suit the varying needs within a class. The school’s senior leadership team also have an ‘open door’ policy for staff and pupils to share ideas and ultimately continue to improve the school for all.

In Order To Be Considered You Must
  • Be a graduate of a university degree
  • Be available from Sept. 2021 on a full-time basis (term-time only)
  • Have a Child Workforce DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new certificate
  • Be able to provide details of two referees including one from your most recent employer
To conclude, this role is from Monday-Friday from September 2021. Working hours - 8:30 -15:15 with a 30 min unpaid lunch
