We’re seeking an experienced recruiter from a technical or engineering recruitment background to drive growth across our research, consultancy, and software businesses. With primary responsibility for identifying, sourcing and screening candidates to support research and consultancy projects, the role will ideally suit a delivery focused individual with a thorough understanding of search and selection, ideally gained from within both an in-house and agency environment.
The role can be worked remotely but requires a commitment to spend time in our offices in Berkshire approximately once every 2 weeks.
Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Identify, attract, select and interview candidates across the professional/scientific/technical /sales and corporate support disciplines.
  • Network and develop diverse talent pools using social media and online search tools, industry events, and through meetings and phone calls.
  • Maintain and build on our employer brand built on our Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers to identify future sourcing needs, develop job descriptions and drive recruitment activity.
  • Ensure the candidate experience remains central to all stages of the recruitment experience, and that candidates’ expectations are managed in a timely fashion.
  • Work with hiring managers to produce shortlists from CVs, and pre-screen candidates.
  • Identify appropriate online job boards, social media and forums for attracting candidates, and write recruitment adverts for placement through our careers portal and other media.
  • Organise and attend industry, university & school careers events, to promote the TRL brand and create a diverse pipeline of candidates for current and future opportunities.
  • Manage the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Organise and run selection days for our annual graduate intake.
  • Coach and guide hiring managers in selection and interviewing techniques.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate, concise and up to data records and reports on the ATS (CIPHR iRecruit). Work proactively to introduce changes to the system in-line with business needs and changes in legislation.
  • Work with HR team to ensure new hire documentation is processed in a timely manner
  • Take full responsibility for visa sponsorship for overseas nationals; ensure the proper allocation of Defined and Undefined Certificates of Sponsorship in a timely manner.
  • Produce and evolve regular management reporting to keep the business appraised of recruitment activity and flag resourcing challenges.

Skills & Experience

  • A good grounding across all aspects of recruitment and selection – ideally gained from both agency and in-house recruitment roles.
  • A poacher / game keeper mentality; comfortable identifying and approaching passive candidates as well as screening out those that don’t fully meet the needs of the role.
  • Significant experience of conducting telephone, video and face to face screening interviews.
  • Exemplary stakeholder management skills; able to quickly build relationships with all levels of hiring managers.
  • Experience recruiting across science, engineering or software/ technical disciplines at all levels; a comfort with technical acronyms and the confidence to approach and recruit candidates in new technical markets.
  • A high level of competence using software including MS Excel, and experience managing, and evolving Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • A pro-active approach to managing candidates through the recruitment process.
  • Extensive knowledge of recruitment tools and methods – including experience designing and implementing online and in-person campaigns.
  • Polished communication skills, with an excellent phone manner and good written English.
  • An effective team worker – adept at establishing own priorities and delivering to deadlines.

Desirable

  • Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements including visa sponsorship.
  • Experience designing and developing selection days for multiple attendees / high volume recruitment.
  • Experience designing and developing effective management reporting.
