As a Support Worker within Gray Healthcare you will join a specialist team supporting an individual within their own home. We support people with complex needs, who may have a Learning Disability, Autism, Personality Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Substance Misuse issues, and people whom require support with their Mental Health.

You will be an instrumental part of the team and will receive outstanding clinical support, leadership and person-centred training. In this role you will support an individual to develop or regain life skills, assisting participation in community life by building strong and trusting working relationships.

About you

We are looking for candidates who share our values, understand the importance of a consistent and empathetic approach, whilst staying calm and professional when presented with a pressurised situation. You need to be a team player with effective communication skills, be experienced in using digital records and care plans, and electronic rostering systems.

You will need to possess an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent. You will be motivated and have a can-do attitude, and work within a Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

Gray Healthcare has built its unique Training Academy with the primary purpose of ensuring that all candidates are given a platform to become industry leading professionals in the field of mental health support and care in the community.

The expectations of candidates will be high, we at Gray Healthcare fundamentally believe that Support Workers play a significant and sometimes the most important role in the Person we Supports lives – it is our responsibility to give our teams all the skills, tools and insight they need to become an expert in the field wrapped around our vision and values to become truly exceptional.

Candidates will engage in a 9-day Academy and Assessment Centre which explore everything from your ‘need to knows’such as: Assignment Instructions, Health and Safety Guidance and Clinical Intervention to Evidence Based Psychosocial Interventions, Cultural Engagement Activities, Customer Service and Communication Skills which reinforce our approachability, diversity and inclusivity.

The Gray Healthcare Training Academy has a three-pillar engagement and assessment model, which consists of: Culture Alignment, Competency and Continuous Professional Development. All candidates will participate in various exercises which will not only evidence their development but also expresses our industry leading approach to healthcare.

Define Proact Scipr Values, Beliefs and Working Practice.

Apply Audit based responses and Trauma Intervention.

Case Note Keeping and Documentation


How to provide gold standard documentation, case-note keeping and auditing of medication.

Inspection and Person-Centred Learning


To undertake a mock inspection, understand the necessary information needed whilst also receiving specific learning sessions directly relating to the person we are going to support.

Medical Masterclass


Demonstrating the use of tools and interventions used in assessing and delivering fundamental aspects of our care planning procedure and clinical care.

Assessment and Graduation


The candidate submission of all assessment modules which include:

Mandatory eLearning Modules in such areas as Safeguarding and Data Protection.


A Presentation of Key Learning throughout The Academy


Assessment of Competence Based Knowledge Test.


1000 Word Assignment which documents the Candidates Continuous Professional Development and the maintenance of excellence and industry leading standards.
