Support Worker Needed It’s not easy, and it’s not for everyone. But as a support worker, the rewards can be so much bigger than the challenges. You really will make a positive difference to people’s lives. We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people.

Being a support worker takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return. About the client: A specialised residential home where we support 4 autistic adults to develop skills to promote their health and wellbeing, inclusion in the local community and greater independence. We are looking for staff with a "can do" approach who can offer active support to facilitate and enable the people we support to progress and move on.

All of the support provided is person centred, to enable those whom we support to live independently, gain employment, access education, join clubs or participate in activities within the community. We are looking for staff with a "can do" approach who can offer active support. You’ll be working with autistic adults and their families. You will be required to do the following; Personal Care Support Support the safeguarding of adults, putting their well being above anything else Be alert to signs of abuse or distress and monitor their physical and emotional needs To be able to remain calm and be a calming influence on the children Undertake any necessary training To supervise the adults both within and outside of the home Use a proactive approach if an adult displays behaviour that they may be a risk to themselves or others Have an understanding of the care standards and relevant guidance Have an understanding of care plans and risk assessments Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check Benefits Opportunity for immediate start (subject to referencing and checks) Flexible working shift pattern Opportunity for sleep-ins 30 days holiday If this is the career you want, please submit your CV or call us on (phone number removed).
