Being a support worker takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return. About the client: Our house supports people with learning disabilities and autism with dedicated, trained and specialist staff. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone. Our approach to support Everyone living at the home has a person-centred plan which they help design.

Each plan is tailored to suit individual needs and reflects their personal choices and aspirations, focusing on what is needed to make that happen. The home promotes "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to area, divisional and national level. You will be required to do the following; Support the safeguarding of adults, putting their well being above anything else Be alert to signs of abuse or distress and monitor their physical and emotional needs To be able to remain calm and be a calming influence on the children Undertake any necessary training To supervise the adults both within and outside of the home Use a proactive approach if an adult displays behaviour that they may be a risk to themselves or others Have an understanding of the care standards and relevant guidance Have an understanding of care plans and risk assessments Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check Benefits Opportunity for immediate start (subject to referencing and checks) Flexible working shift pattern Opportunity for sleep-ins 30 days holiday If this is the career you want, please submit your CV or call Danielle on (phone number removed).
