Are you looking for a career where you can make a difference in the lives of other every day?

We are looking for Support Workers to join our busy Community Support team in Cumbernauld! We have a range of contracts available from 20 to 35 hours per week.

The Role

You will join a network of teams providing support to several individuals within the Cumbernauld area with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, dementia and diabetes. Our team provides both shorter blocks of support, which can be just a couple of hours a day to provide personal care and companionship, as well as longer blocks of support as part of a twenty-four-hour service, where sleepover shifts are included.

This is an exciting, dynamic role where no two days are ever the same! With a focus on building and maintaining independence, as a Support Worker, you will provide support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, preparing meals, administering medication, shopping and light household duties. You will also create opportunities for the people we support to pursue their hobbies and interests, including music, sports, gaming, gardening and cooking. The people we support enjoy visiting local attractions and also take part in volunteering opportunities within the local community.

About You

To be a great Support Worker, you will:

  • be a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
  • have an understanding of good team working and accountability
  • be able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people
  • be adaptable and responsive in times of crisis or need
  • be an excellent communicator and problem-solver
  • be confident in using IT to enhance the support you provide
  • have good organisational and general administrative skills
  • be reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support

Travel will be required throughout Cumbernauld, so it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence to enable people we support and to do this.

We are looking for people with a real passion to build relationships and positively impact the lives of the people we support. So, whilst it would be beneficial if you have experience in a similar role, this is not essential. What’s most important to us is that you can demonstrate the right values and attitude to make a difference. You’ll receive all the training and support you need through our award-winning Training Academy, including the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ qualification.

Shift Patterns

As a member of our team, your normal hours of work will be between 7.30 am and 11.00 pm, Monday to Sunday. You will be expected to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of your rota.

Do you have any questions? To find out more, please contact Ann Crainie on 0786 694 6441.

If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
