Role Overview

To develop a trusted quality supply base for the business, by selecting, developing, and continuously improving partnerships with key suppliers and ensuring the Company requirements are fully understood and met. They need to take ownership as part of the site management team, contribute towards delivery of strategic objectives, developing strong relationships with customers and delivering excellent service to their customers.

Responsibilities
  • To develop and implement the overall supply chain strategy for the site.
  • To ensure the supply chain team plan and source materials to satisfy planned production / supplier demand.
  • To work collaboratively with Sales, Operations (Production) and other Key Stake holder teams to ensure a joined-up approach to achieve customer and business requirements.
  • Manage stock levels and stock at risk, supported by regular reports, along with stock accuracy through audit, reconciliation & PI counts.
  • Identify process bottleneck, drive solutions for process improvements and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • To have a strong working relationship with finance, sales, customers, and suppliers to determine total lowest cost solutions through negotiation and consultation.
  • To proactively engage suppliers in identifying potential external issues, resolutions, and opportunities to ensure a seamless supply.
  • To develop communication solutions that create value, decrease problems, and pre-emptively solve consistent issues.
  • To be able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing and changing priorities.
  • Ensure that appropriate import and export compliance procedures are followed by employees and contracted logistic providers.
  • Awareness, understanding and responsibilities towards maintaining and supporting the principles of the Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS)
  • Conduct monthly capacity and performance analysis to ensure that forecasts and schedules are aligned and integrated.
  • Engage in short and long-term planning and conduct inventory analysis for warehouse utilization.
  • Ensure a good working relationship with technical department to make sure products are kept within product perishability and correct rotation of stock to comply with food safety standards.
  • Having strong attention to detail and numeracy skills across all aspects of work and proficient in MS office applications, especially MS Excel.
  • To generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to provide stakeholders with actionable data and insights regarding current stock levels by category and location.
  • To design, develop, and implement warehouse, distribution, and logistics solutions
  • To be able to adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands, production schedules and established workflows to support production requirements or supplier requirements.
  • Train and evaluate others within the team to ensure personal growth, accountability of each role and for succession planning.
  • To be a strong, supportive, empathetic, and inspiring leader. Championing ABP values and leading from the front with site and group HR initiatives.
  • Contribution at Senior Team meetings, communicating key messages
  • Challenge performance and manage the team in a constructive way
  • Management of employee relations issues.
  • Collaborate effectively and cross functionally, ensuring communication of key messages
  • Site procurement lead for dry ingredient, vegetables, logistics, packaging
  • Completion of site projects in relation to supply chain needs where required
Requirements

Performs productively to a high standard when working in a highly pressured environment to thrive under tight deadlines

Consumer-driven with strong interpersonal skills, and proven ability to develop effective working relationships

Previous credible experience of a fast-moving consumer goods / Supply Chain management

Workplace Transport experience

Planning experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to delegate effectively when required

Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner

People management experience including resolving employee relations matters with support when needed

Understanding of site KPI’s and how these are calculated

Knowledge of Customer requirements and specific retailer codes

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

Good time-management skills

Comfortable with contract negotiations
