Job Title: Evening Shift Supervisor Responsible to: Production Manager Shift/
Hours: 16:00-02:00 Mon-Thurs Pay: £14.50 (The successful candidate will be required to work on a day shift for minimum of 3 months to learn the role and ensure a full, in-depth understanding of the safety and manufacturing processes are gained prior to moving onto the night shift. This temporary day shift will be 8am -4pm Mon
  • Thurs, 8am-3pm on a Friday) Shift Supervisor Main role purpose: To organize daily production requirements in line with set schedules and maintain the momentum throughout the production process. Lead operations so that products are being produced in the most efficient, safe and effective manner, ensuring all production requirements are completed in a timely fashion as set by the Production Manager maximizing the efficiency and operational excellence in the delivery of all customer requirements. Shift Supervisor Key Responsibilities:
  • To distribute job instructions discussed in production meetings to production staff
  • Monitor operations in the production, mixing and press rooms
  • Monitor working targets and job requirements ensuring we are working to the schedule
  • Monitor consumable levels and advise of any issues
  • To ensure all production paperwork is completed in full, accurately and is returned
  • To report and handover clear and precisely to the Production Manager
  • To maximize uptime throughout the shift
  • Keep the facility, clean and tidy and send returns back after shift
  • Always adhere to company processes and procedures
  • Be aware of and follow all H&S procedures at all times
  • Carry out regular and random quality checks and testing, highlighting potential issues immediately
  • To complete reports as and when required by your line leader
  • Adopt a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the business Shift Supervisor General Duties:
  • Identify areas of weakness and make recommendations for improvements to training, production performance, KPI (Key Performance Indicator) improvement, reduction in costs and other efficiencies
  • Always follow the reporting structure
  • Always adhere to health and safety processes and procedures
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions as directed by your line manager Person Specification
  • Essential
  • Experience working within a fast-passed production environment
  • Experience driving a forklift is a bonus
  • Good communication skills
  • PC literate, with adequate Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to cope at times of extreme pressure
