The Improvement and Change department are looking for a new Strategic Improvement and Support Officer to join our team. You will work on a really wide range of issues all of which are aimed at helping our organisation continually improve and making the service we deliver to the public be the best it can be.
This is a great opportunity to assist in the running of a super busy, but really innovative department, helping us to change and improve, develop new strategies for the organisation, support the organisation in achieving plans and strategic objectives and working to understand performance and the benefits we are delivering.
The SISO role will help to develop, deliver and monitor strategic plans. The role will be responsible for progressing collaborative projects and identifying, promoting and implementing innovative practice and initiatives that help to improve the service we offer to the public. The role will also support the teams within the department so an interest in improving through analysis, understanding our demand and progressing organisational change and transformation would be of value.
The post holder will need to be good at conducting research, environmental scanning, identifying best practice and opportunities to improve our strategies, policies, innovations and collaborations. You will need to be good at talking to people at all levels and across the Police and partner agencies. You will be an active and recurrent member in the Departmental Leadership Team as well as a range of groups across the organisation and will represent our department at a range of meetings. To be good in this role you need excellent organisational skills, be able to manage a demanding workload, be an advocate for change, and have some experience at building professional reports and presentations.
To be one of our team you also need to be a great communicator, have a can do attitude, display initiative and good problem-solving skills, and, because every day is a learning day- be willing to actively seek and give feedback.
So, if you think you have the skills and you are interested in using them to help us make a difference in policing and in our communities then please do apply to join us!
