The opportunity:In this role, you and the team are directly responsible for driving profitable revenue by managing and developing existing business with selected accounts. At a secondary level you will be looking to research, identify and target new products, market sectors and customers in line with agreed business strategy and plans and utilizing available market intelligence.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Implement the agreed sales development plan, winning new business and managing resources to the agreed budget targets
  • Target and develop new sales relationships to increase sales volume and maximise profitability
  • Provide detailed market analysis (including competitor activity and market trends) to support strategic business development
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the relevant market sectors to identify and exploit business opportunities
  • Project manage the introduction of new customers into the business ensuring their effective handover to the internal account management teams
  • Provide accurate short, medium and long term forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities
  • Help work with the existing sales team to consolidate approach and streamline style
  • Develop best working practices across the various sales sectors
  • Engage with other internal departments to provide a more complete solution to the client, such as engaging creatively with the creative team

What you need to succeed:

  • Previous experience within a similar role selling high-end packaging
  • Budget management
  • Proven development of new / cold opportunities.
  • Proven selling & closing skills
  • Demonstrated communication & presentation skills.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness (including estimating / pricing)
  • PC or Mac skills (including PowerPoint / excel)
