Here at Serco, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Strategic Account Director to join our Space and Security team and lead our growth strategy by designing and delivering winning propositions that delight our customers.

This is a vital leadership position within the Defence business, and you will be the focal point for all matters that relate to bidding activity and solutions across Space and Security. You will play a key role in generating pipeline and opportunities within our key customers such as UK Space Command, Strategic Command, Royal Air Force, the Cabinet Office and Industry OEMs.

You will have the opportunity to really partner with our key customers and unearth their current and future challenges and help identify, craft and shape solutions that put Serco in the best possible place to win. You will be deeply embedded in our customers world, the Space and Security sector more broadly and have a fantastic team to help support you and convert the opportunities you generate.

What You Need For The Role
  • You will have deep experience and a strong network within the Space and Security sector
  • You will have extensive experience within a similar professional sales role and be able to demonstrate your knowledge and track record in sales and bidding for a company of similar size and stature
  • Deep knowledge of various procurement mechanisms available to Government to take an opportunity to market (ITT, Negotiated Dialogue etc) and have excellent knowledge of how to use company governance processes to translate potential sales opportunities into successfully run and profitable operations
  • As an expert within the Space and Security sector we will expect you to have experience developing positive relationships with senior stakeholders within the UK government
  • This role will require you to be resilient and we are looking for an individual who is capable of being challenged and challenging internal and external stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial outcomes
  • This role will require you to travel relatively frequently to Defence and other business locations in the UK and there may be some requirement for international travel
