Are you a Chef De Partie looking to step up to a new challenge?

Our client, a fresh food pub company with a menu that encourages creativity and the opportunity to make your own specials, is seeking an Sous Chef to join their team. The pub company is also involved in some weddings and events throughout the year, with an average of 80 covers a day, but up to 120 at any one sitting.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, some recipe development and costings
  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of dishes to the highest standard, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
  • Manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, delegating tasks and ensuring smooth service during busy periods
  • Assist with the ordering of stock and maintaining stock levels
  • Help create and develop new menu items and specials
  • Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • Participate in regular training sessions to develop skills and knowledge
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and cleaned to a high standard

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a chef de partie looking to step up to sous chef desirable, working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent culinary skills and a passion for creating high-quality dishes
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and the ability to take direction
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings
  • A willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge
