As our products at Jaguar Land Rover become increasingly complex, it becomes increasingly important to apply a data driven approach during development and testing.The Software Engineer will be able to assist with the front end and back-end development, ensuring that the data collected from a vehicle or rig is easily presented and simple to digest for users.You will design and implement a web-based platform which enables the wider engineering community to apply data driven methods for verification & validation. To handle the necessary volumes of data and variety of internal customers you will need to work on cloud native applications with a combination of programmatic & graphical interfaces.Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities- You will be able to enable the development pathways for junior and experienced developers
- Able to provide a clear platform for users to interpret data for the development of Jaguar Land Rover products
- Able to write in clean code that is efficient to maintain, adapt and run.
- Be in a position to support test and deployment of new products and features
- Be comfortable participating in code reviews, retros and demos
- You will be expected to work as part of an Agile scrum team, and deal with internal stakeholders
- Extensive experience in Python and web development
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the quality, maintainability, and security of the product
- Experience in cloud native data intensive applications
- Extensive experience of code testing frameworks
- Critical thinking mindset when identifying opportunities for the use of new tools and methods
- Experience of enabling progression & development of colleagues
- Enjoy thinking about and working with data (even a bit more than writing code)
- Integrity and preparedness to admit mistakes as well as to stand your ground when you are right
- Proactively supports and enables others in their roles.
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Critical thinking & ability to break down problems in a systematic manner
