We-re building great talent and creating a flexible, fun, meaningful environment for them, and you, to thrive.As the Lead Solution Architect, you will guide and influence the project teams within IT and Business functions on architectural decisions and considerations, manage and lead other architects within the team to ensure all work is delivered to an acceptable quality and provide design leadership to ensure fit for purpose solution designs that meet the functional and non-functional requirement.The Lead Solutions Architect will have the following key accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • Presenting to senior managers and shareholders within the IT and business functions
  • Provide the primary architectural focal point for the Programme.
  • Provide knowledge on modern Applications, Data, Integrations and security within complex and ambitious environments.
  • Prepare and submit detailed documentation on the solution to the IT Design and Service Authorities for review and approval
  • Represent and explain the technical requirements and constraints of the project / programme to IT and business management and advice on any associated technical constraints, risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure solutions meet the reference architectures, standards and patterns outlined within the IT function.
  • Ensure Development is in line with architecture and design principles and policies
  • Document the As-Is state and create transition architectures for intermediate steps towards the target state
  • Strong interpersonal skills to convince, reassure, persuade and negotiate
What You-ll NeedThe successful candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect and Lead Solution Architect, coming from a technical IT function/ background. The individual will also be educated to degree level or above preferably in computing, science or engineering you will have a track record of delivering complex multi-stream projects in a wide variety of technologies from legacy to modern cloud platforms.Essential
  • Experience of analysing existing systems and how change will impact surrounding environments
  • Experience of legacy applications including mainframe
  • Experience of transitioning legacy applications in a controlled manner to modern architectures including cloud or a set of microservices
  • Knowledge on application decommissioning and how to tackle sets of functionalities which do not fit neatly onto target state application
  • Relevant Qualifications including ITIL, TOGAF or Agile are beneficial
