Job purpose

The SDET will work closely with the Solution Architects, Heads of IT areas and Test management to build and implement an Automated Test pipeline in Playwright to support and improve the test cycle through lower environments. The SDET will design, build, maintain and support the automated test platform across multiple significant, tier 1 applications within the organisation. Working with various business and technical teams and in developing, deploying, and supporting the automation systems.

To place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA’s Conduct Rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Individual will be responsible to provide:
    • Detailed requirements analysis
    • Development and execution of Testing Strategies
    • Deployment of Test Automation using the companies CI/CD tooling
  • Identify appropriate tooling and methodology to improve overall automation coverage.
  • Identify, advocate for and deliver automation improvements across multiple teams and programmes.
  • Provide training to team members to build knowledge and skills on the automation system.
  • Work closely with the development team and the business stakeholders to ensure that the frameworks are well understood and provide value.

  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.

Person Specification

Knowledge / Experience/Skills:

  • Extensive experience in a busy IT department, with experience as a developer
  • Financial Services background preferred
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Comprehensive commercial experience test automation designing, developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and test suites. Broad knowledge of technologies across the IT landscape
  • Hands on experience with Playwright, Power Automate and Azure DevOps
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, including ability to plan and review
  • Highly computer literate; with strong Business Analysis skills
  • Cloud Architecture experience preferable
  • NodeJS experience preferable
Communication Skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with colleagues, providers and senior management
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and drive collaboration across the organisation
Qualifications:
  • MuleSoft Certifications
    • MuleSoft Certified Developer (Mule 4)
  • ITIL Foundation qualified
