Your Mission:

Our Software Test Engineering function runs out of London, New York, San Francisco & Tokyo offices. Working in an Agile environment, you will work on Medidata’s next-generation clinical trial management applications. You will work as part of a high performing agile team which has Engineering, testing, Product and Project Management who ensure we are delivering high-quality, innovative products with an emphasis on quality and speed to market. You will participate in the execution and team adoption of testing, automation tools & best practices. Core responsibilities include
  • Writing and maintaining impactful integration and end to end automation.
  • Work with the Engineering to establish CI/CD pipeline.
  • Establish standardization across the teams with respect to automation.
  • Lead and contribute to design discussions about test frameworks and test scripts.
  • Execute automated tests, analyze and report results as needed.
  • Help the team build meaningful test data sets based upon real-world production data that mimics how our customers use our products.
  • Work with the team to understand & develop design and testing considerations, estimates and approach during our Agile SDLC (feature planning, grooming, etc)
  • Benchmark (performance) critical areas in our products, identify any bottlenecks that can be re-architected for speed increases and work to get them into the team backlog.
  • Work with the team to enhance the automation framework to increase reliability, usability and performance of the automated solution.
  • Coaching and mentoring of junior members of the team.
  • Collaborate with other Developers, Test Engineers and Business Analysts.
  • Actively participate in the Scrum ceremonies.
Your Competencies:
  • Extensive automation experience coming from a strong development background (SDET)
  • Experience with testing tools such as Robot Framework, Cucumber, Rest Assured, Cypress, Selenium, etc..
  • Advanced skills in test design and coverage.
  • Experience of API and UI Test automation.
  • Understanding of performance testing.
  • Experience working with code repositories such as GitHub.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins/Travis.
  • Ability to see the big picture from the user perspective.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask; manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Be a problem solver - find creative solutions for tough problems.
  • Be a critical thinker.
  • Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 compliant testing processes would be a plus
Your Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Automation. 4 - 5 years minimum testing and/or development experience
