Social Worker Positions in Learning Disability Service

Full and Part-time positions available – Flexible work available

Salary £31,099- £40,478 (pro rata for part-time)

We are currently looking to recruit dynamic social workers to our Learning Disability Service, opportunities available in the following teams;

  • Weymouth – Weymouth Area Office
  • Purbeck – Purbeck Area Office, Wareham
  • Bridport – Bridport Local Office

We offer hybrid and flexible working, supporting working from home.

You will have access to the Local Government Pension scheme, and we offer a minimum of 26 days holiday, raising to 31 days after 5 years of service with the option to purchase more.

What you can expect to be doing:

You will be undertaking strengths-based assessments, support planning and reviews to support customers with a learning disability to achieve their outcomes and promote their independence.

You will be working as part of a busy team and alongside other teams within the local authority.

Multi-disciplinary practice will be integral to the role.

You must have a degree or equivalent in social work and are registered with Social Work England with the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of this position.

  • undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE)
  • meet the expected standards during the ASYE period
  • or evidence completion of their ASYE.

The ASYE scheme is required unless you can prove that you meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities framework.
