The aim of the role is to provide support to allow A to lead her life independently, working with her to achieve outcomes rather than working ‘for’ her. The job will entail supporting A to develop a fulfilling life in accordance with her support plan i.e. to maximise her independence and choice over daily living activities and lifestyle. The PA will be working alone and without direct supervision; care may be required early mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays. She is close to her family and is also supported by them.
A needs support as she has Learning Difficulties. Motivation, time keeping, staying on task and general concentration to complete day to day living tasks all present challenges. Keeping healthy in terms of diet and exercise are very important elements of this PA job.
PERSONAL CARE: It is requested that the applicant is female due to the role requiring intimate personal care. For this reason, it is exempt under the general occupational requirement section of the Equality Act 2010. DRIVING LICENCE: Driving licence with access to own vehicle is preferred (see duties) LOCATION: Devizes, SN10 HOURS: 16 hours per week (job sharing desirable) split between mornings and early evening; some weekend hours. Happy to have 1 or 2 people sharing this role as it is split shifts and you may have another job that precludes some of the hours, PAY: £10 per hour HOLIDAY: 5.6 weeks per year including Bank Holidays (pro rata for part time) START DATE: asap ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Appointment will be subject to a DBS check, funded by the employer
