Social Care Officer, community Alarm/Telecare Team (2 Posts) PKC09503 £21,698 - £23,969 Perth Fire Station, 401 High Street, Perth, PH1 1PL

This is an exciting and rewarding role as a Social Care Officer, to contribute to the operation of the Community Alarm and Telecare Service.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that provides peace of mind for individuals and their families through a 24-hour response service. In addition, help vulnerable service users in the community and to stay at home independently, and prevent admission to hospital or full-time care.

You will be responsible for working across our Alarm Receiving Centre and Response Team, answering and responding to calls for the most vulnerable citizens in the Perth and Kinross area. You will be able to identify their needs, which are often complex, and provide an appropriate response to ensure their safety.

A degree of technical knowledge and understanding of IT systems would be desirable as you will be required to install Telecare equipment and input information on to the systems that we use.

You should have experience of working with vulnerable service users in a community setting and carrying out personal care to a high standard.

Training will be provided.

You should be enthusiastic, motivated and able to cope with demanding work. A reliable and flexible approach to work together with a positive, responsible and caring attitude are also essential.

Due to the geographical are of Perth and Kinross, it is essential that have a full driving licence.

You must have or be willing to work towards and obtain SVQ 2 in Social Care.

The shift pattern is 12-hour shifts which is variable and includes weekend, and night work.
