CNC Sliding Head Operative (Nights) - Turned and Threaded Parts Have experience in operating CNC sliding head machines and able to read technical drawings for turned or threaded parts? We are seeking a CNC Sliding Head Operative (Nights) to join an established Manufacturing business based in Oldbury, specialised in producing bespoke precision components and parts. As CNC Sliding Head Operative, you will be responsible for producing turned parts from bar to setting and operating Citizen and Emi-Mec Sliding Head lathes, including working with MDI commands. You will also be required to operate manual lathes and measure turned parts to engineering drawings using tools such as Venier Calipers, micrometers and ring gauges. Further responsibilities are listed below. The hours for this position will be from Sunday to Thursday, 9.30pm to 6.30am. Overtime is available. Entitled to 34 days annual leave for this position. Hourly rate for this role is up to £13.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Immediate start date available. Main duties Responsible for producing turned parts from bar. Setting and operating of Citizen and Emi-Mec Sliding Head lathes, including working with MDI commands Changing of tips, tools, drills and inserts into CNC sliding head machines to manufacture turned metal components. Operating of manual lathes Measuring turned parts to engineering drawings using tools such as Venier Calipers, micrometers and ring gauges. Using shadowgraphs General tidying and cleaning of manufacturing area All work is bespoke and each job is different, so a high level of manufacturing knowledge is essential.
