Fixed Term for 1 Year In The First Instance

Llanwern High School is looking for a qualified Skills Challenge (Welsh Baccalaureate) Teacher to enrich the learning and development of their students at both Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching the Skills Challenge Certificate and be able to create engaging and innovative lessons, demonstrate strong teaching practices and have effective classroom management skills.


The position is initially on a part-time basis and will include planning and assessment under the guidance of the Humanities Area of Learning Lead.

Llanwern High School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school that serves much of the eastern side of Newport. It is housed in a modern building that provides a learning environment appropriate for a 21st century education. There are approximately 900 pupils on roll with pupil numbers envisaged to grow significantly in the coming years. Llanwern High School provides a high level of support and offers a positive and welcoming working environment, excellent staff wellbeing and professional development for all employees.


This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
