WHO ARE SERVICE LOGISTICS?

DHL Service Logistics is a Global Supply Chain product. As of April 1st 2023 the UK & Ireland became it’s own separate region to focus on the growth of the product within the UK&I separating from the EMEA region. Although the UK&I is now it’s own region in its own right the UK&I is often at the forefront of global opportunities. Being part of a global network is our one of our biggest strengths.

The foundation of Service Logistics in essence is to provide a time critical logistics solution centered around getting the right parts to the right place at the right time, to keep our customers operations running smoothly so they never let their customers down.

We are at the leading edge of innovating the Service Logistics supply chain, bringing new ways of working and utilizing the latest technology to enhance customer experience. As such global supply chain products such as Circular & Technology Services, EVB returns and the Work From Anywhere sit within Service Logistics.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ON PROGRAMME?

DHL Supply Chain’sUK nationwide Sales graduate programme is all about developing leaders for future business. DHL Supply Chain provides placement opportunities to experience a broad range of different environments, within both site based and regional responsibility. You will tackle real challenges with a supportive culture that helps you get the most out of your time as a Graduate. As companies like ours grow it is important to have a structured approach to support business development, account and sales team, providing growth and innovation to our warehouse and transport teams.

During your programme you may undertake positions such as indirect Sales Support and Bid Excellence along with being involved in high profile customer projects. We ask Graduates to bring ideas to the table and take on responsibility from the get go. Most learning occurs on the job when Graduates are faced with real life daily challenges and responsibilities however we also supplement this experience with formal skills development training.
  • 24-month structured programme (2 x 12-month placements)
  • Placements will differ being based at site or located regionally
  • Early accountability and fast progression
  • Experience of working within diverse sites and environments
  • Regular performance feedback and personal growth planning through a structured learning plan

WHAT KIND OF WORK WILL I DO?
  • You will be responsible for managing genuine relationships with prospects, customers, and colleagues
  • Develop and establish your pipeline with existing & new customers - from lead through to delivery and deliver sales in line with goals
  • To confidently articulate that you are the SME in the services / solutions that you represent through the end to end journey of the sales process
  • Work with the wider internal UK & Ireland business units to iterate propositions and materials for the service parts logistics market
  • Maintain accurate and current information on prospects and interaction activities in company CRM systems
  • Thou predominantly a UK & Ireland role you will be exposed to a wider global organisation and as such you will need to be able to communicate and work with other global regions & business units within those regions / countries within the Service Logistics product (APAC, EMEA, LATAM & NORAM)
Due to the global exposure you will need to be able to travel internationally and work with our EMEA colleagues in Brussels

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
  • Do not require a management or Supply Chain and Logistics degree but you should have a desire to progress within this discipline
  • Be ambitious and goal driven with a desire to build a career in Business Development
  • A desire to develop and a willingness to learn
  • A competitive edge – someone who likes to create and be involved in competitions, loves winning and driving a team
  • Positive approach to work, ’Can do’ attitude, desire to learn
  • Open minded to be able to operate with multiple nationalities & cultures.
  • You will want to build a career within a Global Corporate Entity
WHAT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS DO I NEED?
  • Fully mobile to relocate within the UK (graduates are required to relocate every 12 months for their placements whilst on the programme)
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license or be self-reliant to travel to multiple sites when required
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (DHL SUPPLY CHAIN DOES NOT OFFER VISA SPONSORSHIPS. IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A TIME-LIMITED VISA, YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR YOUR VISA END DATE AS PART OF YOUR APPLICATION)
  • Must be fluent in English
  • No minimum degree grade
  • Valid passport for international travel

STARTING SALARY:  £29,000 per annum. 

WORKING WEEK: 37.5 hours

The Experience Day for this programme will take place on the 7th March 2024, in person, in Birmingham.
