Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

The Law School at LJMU has a long tradition of marrying academic excellence and practical legal study. You will be based in the School’s award-winning law clinic (Legal Advice Centre, LAC).

You will be expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the School of Law, with a particular focus on Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution, legal skills, and the clinics located in the School of Law’s Legal Advice Centre.

We are particularly proud of the contribution our Legal Advice Centre has made to both the University and the regional community. The work of the LAC has now been embedded into the undergraduate curriculum to provide valuable experience and skills development for our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

You will be working in a vibrant, modern Law School and you will be required to demonstrate excellence and innovation in both teaching and legal practice. The School has a large suite of LLB, LLM and LPC programmes. The LLB has been adapted to include elements of preparation towards new routes to qualification under the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). You will support the delivery of a range of Law undergraduate and postgraduate modules.

Informal enquiries may be made to the Clinical Legal Education Programme Leader, Rachel Stalker, email: R.Stalker@ljmu.ac.uk

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join LJMU in our bicentenary year and with the launch of our new strategic plan.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief. All our appointments are made on merit.

Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
