An exciting opportunity has become available at Cardiff Council Children’s Services. We are recruiting for a Full Time Senior Support Worker for the Supported Lodgings Team, which is part of the Substitute Family Care Service.


About the job


The Supported Lodgings Team are focussed on recruiting more Supported Lodgings providers, who are able to provide a safe and stable placement in their home for young people who are referred to our scheme.

In order to recruit more Supported Lodgings providers, we are looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker whose primary role will be to recruit and assess potential Supported Lodgings providers. Please tell us about your experience of undertaking assessments in your application.

Additionally, we deliver high quality support to our approved Supported Lodgings providers using the Signs of Safety Framework. This innovative strength based approach provides stable, safe and nurturing placements for our young people.


What We Are Looking For From You

  • We are looking for an individual who has previous experience of assessment work.
  • We require someone who is skilled in report writing and meeting timescales
  • You will carry a caseload of initial assessments, full assessments and also provide support and monitoring to approved Supported Lodgings providers who have young people placed with them.
  • The role will include some marketing activity and providing training to approved Supported Lodgings providers.
  • We are a looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual.
  • You need to have some experience of working with young people and /or in supporting adults.
  • A vital part of the role is the ability to work flexibly
