An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Specialities ward. Ward B23 has 32 beds and cares for the needs of patient’s pre and post operatively. This is an Acute Orthopaedic Trauma Unit, which is also part of the Major Trauma Network.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and kind, caring and hard working experienced Registered Nurse who has vision and can demonstrate high standards to care for surgical patients. The delivery of holistic, person-centred care is paramount. Your ability to problem-solve and think on your feet is vital. Experience of regularly assuming charge of your clinical area is essential as is evidence of leadership skills and evidence of an appetite for life long learning and a focus in continuous quality improvement to ensure patient safety.

As part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment, delivery and supervision of care needs, supporting the clinical standards within the ward environment, to ensure that Quality Standards and Key Performance Indicators are met.

You should have experience of working at a Band 5, in a surgical area and have an excellent knowledge base of orthopaedic and surgical conditions. You will be expected to work a flexible work pattern.

The successful candidate will provide management support to the Senior Charge Nurse, in the delivery of the day-to-day management of the Ward as well as the delivery of the needs of service and organisation for patients in our care. The role includes deputising for the senior charge nurse in her absence.
