Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics

University Hospital Wishaw


An opportunity has arisen within NHS Lanarkshire’s Orthopaedic Service for a Specialty Doctor at University Hospital Wishaw.

This post will offer excellent experience in Orthopaedics and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the Orthopaedic middle tier Rota (partial shift).

The Orthopaedic services within NHS Lanarkshire have first class facilities, with a pneumatic tube system to transfer patient samples, and all hospitals have a computerised results service within NHS Lanarkshire to provide a comprehensive service to the local community and beyond.

NHS Lanarkshire is constantly reviewing its rotas to maintain New Deal compliance together with the new arrangements as set down by the Scottish Government and Scottish Medical Training (SMT). Rotas therefore, may be subject to change.

NHS Lanarkshire has excellent post-graduate libraries and IT facilities. Active post-graduate educational programmes are in place, including dedicated protected teaching sessions for doctors.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis and applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. If full-time, up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional clinical activity.
