HAYS Technology are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity, working as a Senior Software Developer.

There may be very occasional travel to other sites in Southampton and/or Camberley.

Key duties:

  • Contribute to the improvement of the delivery lifecycle, through Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices and frequent retrospectives
  • Investigate and implement new technologies to allow the code to be more maintainable as the business scales

You will require:

  • Demonstrable experience in C# / .NET Core
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-first approaches, preferably in Microsoft Azure
  • Experience building web-based APIs, preferably using a microservice based approach
  • An agile mindset, an ability to be flexible and adaptable in a growing organisation and the understanding of the software tools and practices to achieve this
  • A growth mindset, the desire to grow personally and professionally and not be defined by one technology or way of doing things
  • Knowledge of good software engineering practices, such as unit testing, SOLID principles, DevOps principles etc.
  • Familiarity with good software lifecycle management concepts:
  • Git workflow and change control
  • Automated testing
  • Continuous integration and deployment
  • Issue tracking
  • Versioning and release management
  • Working with others respectfully as part of a team, seeking out relationships outside of your immediate team, communicating in a safe environment with courage to others in the business if something can be improved

Ideally you should also have some knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • A genuine desire to want to make a difference to people’s lives through providing customers and patients access to diagnostic services in the fight against infectious diseases
  • Experience in instrumentation software and R&D, preferably in the field of Life Sciences
  • Varied experience across desktop software, cloud services, firmware development, IoT, analysis algorithms and data science using a variety of languages
  • Experience of development conforming to specific standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
  • Experience of development within regulated applications (e.g. ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 62304)

Benefits:

  • 25 Days Holiday
  • Company Bonus Scheme or Commission Scheme

  • Buy/Sell Holiday (up to 5 days leave may be bought or sold)
  • Refer a friend (£500 paid to employee for referring a new member of staff)

  • Pension Scheme: either the Group Pension Plan or the government NEST scheme
  • Life Assurance (4 times annual salary)
