Perth & Kinross Council Out of Social Work Service have restructured and now have a vacancy for the position of Senior Social Care Officer within their busy team to fulfil the councils statutory duties. The post is an integral part of a front line emergency generic social work service which covers the whole of Perth & Kinross.

Working within a dedicated, experienced team you will work along side the shift Coordinator and Social Worker and have the ability to assess and support individuals and families who are in crisis and provide and implement plans which protect and are needs led.

The role includes working in the evening, weekends and public holidays and includes an on call element within an established rota which offers a good work / life balance.

The role also includes working closely with colleagues from day services and other parts of of the council who provide a 24 hour service as well as partners such as police and NHS.

Participation in team meetings is required and professional supervision will be provided.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual who has worked in a statutory setting. You will have excellent assessment and communication skills and should be committed to delivering a high standard of service in accordance to PKC customer service.

You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and be on call within a rota.

You should be able to demonstrate an ability to work with individuals and families who are in crises and further demonstrate an ability to work with other parts of the PKC OOHS service and partners such as police and NHS.

You must to committed to to promoting diversity and equality.

There is an expectation that you will attend development sessions and team meetings.

You must have a HNC or SVQ level 3 in social care.
