In this role you will undertake tasks as either an individually or as part of a team, to provide maintenance to the Councils Operations facilities throughout Perth and Kinross, ensuring these sites are maintained to an acceptable standard to meet the expectations of our customers.
As the successful post holder, you will be in charge of a small squad and undertake on site assessments including Health and Safety of yourself and others while undertaking work. You will also be required to document HAV’s exposure for yourself and the team.
You will receive instructions and efficiently and effectively carry out a programme of cleaning, making safe, updating or replacing signage, repairing or refurbishing the infrastructure of recycling centres or points and any subsequent recycling containers within these sites.
You will carry out groundworks including light brickwork, repointing, slabbing, light road repairs (tarring/ concreting) and fencing to enable new recycling points and facilities to be built and maintained.
You will have experience in hard and soft landscaping, general handyman working activities including joinery work.
This will require operation and use of power washers, small plant, tools and materials to carry out the cleaning, repairing and refurbishment of infrastructure as required.
You must have a valid C1+E driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.
You must be able to do any paperwork associated with the post eg timesheets, work schedules, maintenance records etc. A knowledge of computers would also be beneficial.
The Environment Service operates new ways of working, this post is Monday to Thursday, 36 hours per week.

A valid UK Driving Licence with C1E entitlement is essential, C is desirable. Plant Qualification is desirable (MEWP, 360 mini excavator etc).
