Proclinical are recruiting a Senior Scientist - Process Development for a biotech corporation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Milton Park.


Responsibilities:

  • Handle more junior lab-based personnel.
  • Work alongside manufacturing, QA, F&E, and any other process development staff to assist and improve process steps in the production procedures.
  • Guarantee efficient, high-quality, timely and suitable documentation in lab notebooks.
  • You will optimise and implement solid bench and pilot scale process steps which involves cell build, production bioreactor, and purification techniques, for example: filtration and chromatography.
  • Write/evaluate protocols, documents, risk assessments, SOPs, and batch records.
  • Th ideal candidate will design process development lab-based experiments to assist with process characterisation/optimisation.
  • Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Educated to a degree level in a suitable discipline such as chemical engineering, biology, etc. with at least 6-8 years of work experience, or educated to a master’s degree level with at least 4-6 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with biologics process development lab environments.
  • Acquaintance in a people management role.
  • Capable of working in cross-functional teams across the company.
  • An organised individual with a high attention to detail.
  • Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Works well in a team.
