Britishvolt is looking to hire a Senior Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of Quality Engineers working on different aspects of the Manufacturing process. This role will be accountable for ensuring Quality standards are maintained throughout all parts of the Manufacturing process and problems are addressed in full and on time. The Senior Quality Engineer will be a champion of Quality and Continuous Improvement in the factory floor and the Quality laboratories so demonstrable relevant experience is required. Excellent communication, teamwork and negotiation skills are necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the operation of the Quality activities in relation to compliance of quality standards and regulations and make recommendations for corrections or improvements.
  • Accountable for all Quality related implementation and investigation activities in their assigned domains.
  • Lead a team of Quality Engineers ensuring Quality objectives are met in time, on budget and in full.
  • Lead the implementation of Processes and Systems to ensure they meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Support the creation, adoption, and improvement of the Britishvolt Quality Management System (BVQMS).
  • Ensuring quality management systems are implemented, maintained and adequate.
  • Interface and Liaise with Customers and Suppliers – both internal and external to the business to ensure timely resolution of Quality related issues.
  • Assist with Audits/Investigations internally and externally
  • Liaise with all functional areas on product and process Quality.
  • Ensure Quality Standards are maintained to the satisfaction of internal and external Customers.
  • Develop and lead training for QA systems.
  • Manage risk and perform root cause analysis using quality and statistical tools.
  • Coach, support and train operations and quality personnel in validation requirements and in the writing of validation documentation.
  • Develop and monitor metrics and KPI’s associated with validation providing inputs to QA team and key stakeholders ensuring visibility of progress and status.
  • Lead, drive, coach, teach and support Continuous Improvement, Problem Resolution through Root Cause Analysis, 7QC tools, 8D and effective Decision Making.
  • Own and manage the process for reporting production defects.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, to regularly solicit and act on feedback, focus on root causes, and continually strive to improve .

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and leading people is necessary
  • Related Battery Manufacturing experience in a similar position would be preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Lead Auditor qualified desirable
  • Six Sigma and Lean certification desirable
  • Use of Quality Tools including FMEA, PPAP, APQP and root cause analysis desirable
  • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Flexible to travel
