R00191010Purolite, an Ecolab company, the world leader in resin-based separation, purification and extraction technology, is seeking a Senior Production Chemist.At Purolite, we manufacture products which help our customers around the globe, mainly in pharmaceutical and life science sectors, with technology which are critical to safe manufacture of their products. It’s an exciting business which helps make the world cleaner, safer and healthier.As a Senior Production Chemist you will be the point of contact for production & engineering to monitor, troubleshoot and improve the production process. The role will require specialist knowledge of process chemistry to understand each process step. The overall objective is to create a robust manufacturing process that performs repeatably to meet the high quality standards of the product.What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for leading the technical monitoring and evaluation of production processes across the manufacturing process.
  • Point of contact for production and ability to rapidly troubleshoot production processes to identify issues and lead a recovery plan
  • Ability to critically discern reaction failure pathways
  • Perform root cause analysis of analytical, synthetic and manufacturing problems and suggest corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Evaluate reaction feasibility upon scale up from bench and pilot plant scale to full production
  • Carry out feasibility assessments for new projects or process changes alongside engineering teams to maintain product quality
  • Perform process optimization in conjunction with research, pilot plant, and plant engineering
  • Implement and optimize in process test methods for quality assurance analysis
  • Prepare bench scale batches for process troubleshooting, when necessary
  • Act as liaison between production, engineering, technical, validation, and quality teams
What You’ll Need
  • A PhD in Organic or Analytical Chemistry with 0-3 years of experience, a Master’s Degree in Organic or Analytical Chemistry with 3+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with process troubleshooting in a lab environment
  • Experience in wet chemical and instrumental analysis, especially GC, LC and FTIR
