Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, expanding into the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in 2017. We are responsible for delivering the entirety of children’s services in all three local authorities.

Achieving for Children has been up and running for four years, and in that time, we have established a reputation as one of the leading children’s services providers in the country. We are one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice’, tasked with leading improvement across the sector.

If you’re an experienced and confident Social Worker with experience, skills and knowledge with Children with Disabilities, AfC want you!

The Senior Practitioner in the Children with Disabilities Team will be allocated a caseload of children with a wide variety of disabilities. They will undertake cases independently and demonstrate an ability to adapt the approach from first principles to deal with more complex or unusual cases, assessing and managing risks appropriately. The Senior Practitioner will develop and share with others specialist knowledge while undertaking a range of assessment and care planning work which includes Single assessments, Child in Need meetings, Care planning, Multi - agency working, Strategy Meetings and section 47 Investigations, Initial Child Protection Conference, Initial Care Proceedings and Initial accommodation to local authority care.
