2021 is a very exciting time to join the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with our service going through many changes and enhancements including being awarded 490k from MHCLG to deliver a comprehensive Rough Sleeper Pathway.

We are focused on continuing to improve our housing services, including reducing the number of households in temporary accommodation, increasing housing options available to residents, reducing rough sleeping, developing an enhanced private sector offer and improving the service we deliver to our customers. There has never been a better time to join an improving Housing Service working to deliver high quality, innovative, people-focused and value for money services. The service covers housing options, homelessness, housing policy, rough sleeper services, housing register, allocations and housing enabling.

With a comprehensive understanding and awareness of housing issues and government policies relating to homelessness, you will have a sound working knowledge of the HRA 2017, Housing Act 1996 Part VII and Localism Act 2011. You will have proven ability to manage difficult situations whilst remaining calm, friendly and professional along with experience of working with individuals who are under stress and emotional because they could be living in unsatisfactory housing conditions.

You will be a key player within the housing options team, with responsibility for housing options cases from initial advice/triage through to sustainable housing options including the assessment of homeless applications and providing the relevant support and advice as determined within the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
